Impressions from the Health & Wellness event at the Mobile World Congress.
The Mobile World Congress 2015 hosted a special event dedicated to healthcare for the second consecutive year. A major improvement compared to last year was the location. The second event day was now held at the Fira Gran Via, which is the main venue for the Mobile World Congress. Last year the event took place at the Fira Montjuïc venue a few train stops away, which made it cumbersome for visitors to attend select portions of the two-day event. The 2015 speaker line-up was impressive and included presenters from major telecom and healthcare companies such as Orange Healthcare, Qualcomm Life, Telefónica, Healthways, Philips and Tunstall. Similarly, the Q&A sessions were fruitful and included many practical and strategic considerations concerning the state and direction of the connected healthcare market, such as what roles players from the mobile industry will have in shaping the future of healthcare. A possible area of improvement in the event would be to integrate the main MWC congress even more closely with the Health & Wellness track. This would be especially useful in order to make the exhibitor area more vibrant, as companies showcasing their connected health solutions at MWC now were scattered throughout the entire congress area.
